Joanna´s story and others

When I started looking for a book to read, I founded this one at home. It has three short stories that make you think about what things you should do and what others you shouldn´t.
The first story is called Joanna’s story; Joanna was never happy with her physical appearance, and she was always comparing herself with her best friend called Clare.  She thought Clare was more beautiful than her.  But problems came with Clare´s boyfriend, Joanna was jealous from him. And she started doing many thinks that wouldn´t bring anything good for her.

The second story is called Ricardo´s story; Ricardo was a good boy but everything started changing when his best friend, Pablo, left his school. In his new school they met a group of tough-looking boys, and they started going out with them. They started drinking alcohol and going out a lot, this would get horrible consequences for them.

The third story is called Anne´s diary; Anne is a girl who started writing a diary to express her anxiety. His parents were in the middle of a divorce and she and her little sister where suffering a lot.

I enjoyed a lot this book because as it´s made of three small stories it´s no boring and monotonous. Another thing I like of this book is that it makes you think about the consequences of alcohol and of been jealous. My favorite story is Ricardo´s story because I think it´s the most real one.

In conclusion I think it´s a really good book that make you think a lot.

Welcome to Ciudad Real

Ciudad Real is my parent´s home town. It´s a small city but it has many places to visit. If you want to enjoy your holydays go there you´ll have a really nice time for sure!

MONUMENTS

In the past Ciudad Real had many monuments to visit, for example the “Plaza mayor” that was rounded by many old buildings included the hall town. But in the year 1985 Ciudad Real started changing, almost all the old buildings were overthrow.  But nowadays there are still some old buildings like the cathedral, the church of “San Pedro “,  the “Puerta Toledo” (it´s a piece of the old battlement) and the “Torreón”.

CIUDAD REAL FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

If you´re young and you want to visit Ciudad Real you´ll be happy to hear that you can go walking anywhere. As it´s a small city everything is near the center. You can do many things like  going shopping, going to the cinema, go for a walk with your friends… and many more activities that you´ll enjoy a lot!

TIPICAL BARS

One special thing of Ciudad rear is that if you drink something like coke, beer, salobreña (typical drink from Ciudad Real) you´ll get an appetizer for sure!

SPORTS
In Ciudad Real the most typical sport is the ”balonmano” it´s easy to play, it´s just like football but with your hands instead of your feet. Ciudad Real has won many copes and last year it was the best team of Europe.

MUSEUMS

Ciudad Real have some museums you can visit if you want to know some of its history. They have some old pieces from Ciudad Real, pictures…The best think is that they’re really cheap or free!

I´m sure you´ll enjoy your holydays if you go to visit Ciudad Real.

What´s in the jar?

In the third turn my class decided to organize a project in order to raise money for supporting a charity. Finally after many time we decided to support Caritas and we did a project called “what´s in the jar?”.

At the beginning of the turn we divided the class in many small groups. Each group had an idea for supporting different charity. My charity was “Save the children” and we wanted to organize a karaoke.

Then we had to look for information of these charities and explain it in a power point to our class. Finally when the class knew a lot of information about all the charities we voted, the winner was the project of “what´s in the jar “supporting Caritas.

It consisted in filling up a jar with candies and showing it to everybody in the school. People had to guess how many candies were in the jar. You just had to pay one euro for participating and the winner would get all the candies! Of course all the money we got was going to Caritas.

Once we knew the project we had to ask for permission to the principal so we wrote a formal letter explaining everything to him and he liked the idea a lot.

When we had the permission we started organizing everything.  Each person had a task, making tickets, designing posters, counting sweets… I had to prepare everything before the break and counting some sweets too.

Many people participated, and a representative from Caritas came to help us!

At the end we collected more than one hundred of euros. There were 877 candies in the jar and Paula Ruiz García got all of them.

I think this project has been a really good idea. For me it´s the best activity we have done in all the course because we have learned a lot and we have helped many people. Well maybe one hundred of euros isn´t much money for a charity but I think many people has realized that helping others is rewarding and they will try to support more charities.

My best ability

I think my best ability is doing magic. I like it because when I do it in front of some people they normally get impressed and this make me feel happy.
I started doing magic when I was a child I normally did it to my family. This year I'm going to a pub in Seville every Friday where I can learn more magic and have fun.
Magic needs a lot of practice because it is dificolt so I practice one hour every day. When I practice I normally do the tricks to my family.
When I do magic to people I feel relaxed and happy. Normally when I do magic to people they don't know what is going to happend so they normally get impressed.
In conclusion, I really like doing magic because people normally enjois it.
